Do you have the right pattern for my car?

We have an extensive library of between 9500 and 10,000 patterns. Call us or send an email, tell us what you need and we'll figure out the right answer.

What if you don't have a pattern for my car?

We can either show you how to make a pattern from the existing glass or you can send us the window frame and we can make the glass to fit it. Sometimes we ask you to trace the frame, scan it and email it to us as an image file. We have the capability to convert those images to the vector format used by our computer controlled cutting machine.

Do you cut glass for custom chopped tops?

Yes!  However, you'll need to make a pattern for us to use.  Since everyone has a different approach to the process, it's impossible to have a standard pattern for chopped tops.  We encourage you to make a working template out of 1/4 inch tempered hardboard, masonite or cardboard and send it or a tracing of it to us. We'll scan it, vectorize it and cut it for you.

Do you cut glass for power windows?

Yes!  Power window kits usually require additional glass at the bottom to attach to.  Unless the top has been chopped, all we need from you is how much to add to the bottom of the window.  Otherwise, a stock pattern will work just fine.

Has anyone ever asked you for something you couldn't do?

If the car is newer than 1965, chances are we can't produce a window for it. Modern cars have curved or bent glass (from about 1965 on) and we don't yet have the technology to manufacture that kind of window. We do have sources for bent windows, though.  Give us a call and we'll try our best to find what you're looking for.  If we can't find it, we'll get you in contact with someone who may be better able to help.

What's the oldest car you've cut glass for?

We once did work for a 1925 Ford Model T. That's probably the oldest we've done so far.

What is black edging?

Black edging is primarily used for restoration projects. A black edge is actually in reference to a sealant used prior to 1941 to seal the edges of a window from contamination. It's not necessary today, but we offer it for cosmetic reasons. It adds a level of authenticity to a restoration that is sometimes required in competitions. As far as we know, we are the only company in the US that offers black edging.

What do you mean by scripting?

Scripting is a reproduction of the manufacturer's original mark. Some guys refer to it as a "bug" We are licensed by Ford to reproduce the Ford logo and date scripting common between 1928 and 1963.

Is it safe to ship glass across the country?

Yes, we ship our glass all the time. We've safely shipped glass as far away as Norway and South America! The reason we can do it without damage is because we securely pack the glass. We currently enjoy a shipping damage rate of less than 1% of our total orders. Most glass companies consider 10% a good rate! If it happens to your order, simply give us a call and we'll get replacements on their way to you ASAP...and we take care of the insurance claim!

A number of times we have had customers call us and comment on the quality of our packing.

What is your policy with shipping and fit?

We guarantee it to fit. If for some reason it doesn't, we will take care of the problem or we will buy it back from you.

For longer pieces of glass we ship in a wooden box. Shorter pieces are less likely to flex and break during shipping; so are shipped in custom made cardboard boxes. If you originally sent us window frames, then everything will be shipped in a wooden box to prevent breakage of the frames. We always ship insured.

The box is built so that if you need to return the glass for any reason it is strong enough for multiple trips.

What happens if I break the glass when installing it?

It's rare but it does happen. If you break the glass during installation, we will offer replacement glass at half price.

Do you ship overseas?

Definitely. Recently we have been shipping more and more overseas. We've shipped directly to Norway, Portugal, Spain, South America, Canada, and Mexico. Regardless of where you are, we can ship your glass to you.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept VISA and MasterCard and we accept checks and money orders as well.

Do you stock any NOS windows?

Definitely not! N.O.S. (New Old Stock) parts are mostly quality rejects from the assembly line or ill fitting parts that have been gathering dust (sometimes for decades) on a dealer's parts shelf.  If you find a N.O.S. window, chances are it won't fit!

Do you offer online ordering?

We currently maintain an eBay store and will be offering online ordering directly from this website soon.

What do I need to know to scan and send you a window tracing?

There are document stores out there (such as Kinko's) that provide large format scanners for you to use.  If you don't know how to use one, an employee will be glad to help.  The image should be scanned to full size in PDF format, 200 dpi.  They can save it to a CD for you to take with you.  Simply attach the image to an email or send the CD to us by US mail.
